I had to create a new SSL certificate.
The previous one could not be imported in Android.
So you have to accept my new self signed certificate for https sites on the server.

You can access and install the new certificate also by using this link:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I've installed a new server SSL certificate because the old one expired a few days ago.

I'm thinking about using certificates from letsencrypt.org in the future.
These should be trusted automatically.
Not sure when I'll try to install this.
I'll update the link above asap too.
I've updated the link above.

Hi Albert, for a few days ago, maybe some week, using Steam browser, I can´t access to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] because a SSL error

With Firefox SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER, so I need to add an exception.

Usually, I added an exception in Internet Explorer and I could access through Internet Explorer and Steam browser, but now steam browser is giving me the error.

Invalid SSL Certificate
The SSL certificate for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is invalid and the page will not be loaded

Maybe a new SLL sertificate is needed?.

See ya

Hm.

The certificate is valid until 2026
I've installed Firefox quickly on a new Notebook.
I could accept the self signed certificate as always.
So in Firefox everything seems to be fine here.

Then I've imported the certificate above in the Windows Trusted Root Certificate store.
After that I could open the page without any error message in Internet Explorer and in Edge too.

Maybe Steam has changed something and does not use the Windows certificate store.
I don't know how to allow a self signed certificate in steam.
Sorry.

If I delete certificate, then Desktop browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera) do not load the website, I get error about.

Your connetion is not secure

Code:
The Onwer of h2378406.stratoserver.net has configured their website improperly. To ptotect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

Code:
h2378406.stratoserver.net uses an invalid certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed. Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER

I must to add an exception in firefox for open it.

Then I exported this certificate, and  I've imported in the Windows Trusted Root Certificate store, even I moved the certificate from the Certificates-Current User > Trusted Root Certification Authorities into Certificates (Local Computer) > Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

Then I can open the website in Internet Explorer, but Steam browser do not open the website, so I can´t login  in.

I can open [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] but not [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The only difference I can see is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I can open http://h2378406.stratoserver.net/sourcebans/ but if I click on Login, open https://h2378406.stratoserver.net/sourcebans/index.php?p=login, so maybe certificate content http urls and must be changed to https.

All login pages are redirected to https so that everything (e.g. passwords) is transferred encrypted.
So you can view the servers page unencrypted via http because there is no password to transfer.
There is no certificate envolved.
For the https page the certificate is used.

I think the Steam Client is the problem.
There is nothing I can do with this self signed certificate.
And I cannot get a real trusted certificate for any subdomain like h2378406.stratoserver.net because Strato owns the domain stratoserver.net

All other browsers work properly.
Steam is using Chromium as Browser to render their Steam Client UI.
I assume that this internal browser is not meant to be used as a normal web browser anyway.
There is no way to easily enter an URL there.
And external links will open in the OS web browser.

Something will have changed on Steam, because I tested another Windows installation, and got the same problem, but the certificate in not fully valid because [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is the only https website I can´t open using Steam browser.

If we need to add an exclusion in the Desktop browsers for opening the website then something is not correct with the certificate.

I remember, maybe some year ago, Steam browser allowed open urls with invalid certificate and address url turned red, but now there is no option to open websites with invalid certificate.

Thanks for taking time testing.

The Problem is that we have a "self signed" certificate.
That means, it is not signed by a CA (Certificate Authority).
Windows and Firefox have certain CAs embedded.
So any certificate which is signed by an embedded CA would be regarded as valid because the CA ensures that the certificate can be trusted.

To consider a self signed certificate as valid you can simply import that certifiacte as trusted in the OS or in the browser.
Firefox has its own certificate store with CAs inside.
Edge, Chrome and Internet Explorer will use the OS certificate store.

Steam uses the Chromium Browser but it seems that they do not accept imported self signed certificates.
